HUNTING MODALITIES
- Traditional Spanish Hunt (Monteria)
When talking about methods of hunting we have to mention our “Monteria” a unique type of hunting only practised in Spain, with it’s origins back in the 13th century. There is nothing comparable to the colour and flavour of our Monteria. This big game drives are mostly for red deer and wild board, sometimes is mix with fallow deer and mouflon sheep. The Hunt consists of closing with hunters a zone of mount where the presence of beasts has been recognized, and with the entry of dogs in the above mentioned zone to achieve that the animals move up to making them come to the hunters who wait with the ready weapon.
This type of hunt, most spread in Spain between October and February grants the opportunity to the hunter of, beside bringing down different pieces in the same day, knowing a modality of the unique hunt in Spain, where it is necessary to demonstrate the hunting skills of each one.
- Staking
We can offer the best staking, so much in private estates like in Natural Reserves.Probably it is the most sports modality, in which the hunter has opportunity to measure his physical and mental
qualities with those of the animal that it chases. In Spain, all the species of big game hunting can be hunted under this modality.
- Driven Red Partridge
The Driven Red Partridge is one of the most traditional and typical hunts in Spain. This hunt allows big bags of birds, ranging from 400 to 1.000 partridges in a good day shot among 8 to 12 guns. Circulo de Cazadores provides this shooting in several of the best Spanish estates. The estates are located in the provinces of Madrid and Ciudad Real . All of these estates are mainly devoted to the red partridge and their owners have oriented its management to produce top quality birds and are proud to provide unforgettable shots.There is a big difference among the estates in terms of lay out, some of them are mainly flat farming lands that will allow the gun to see the beaters advancing towards the line and the birds flying from a good distance. Others combine the farming areas with hilly and bushy parts where the birds look for shelter and from where they will take off with their fast flight when pushed by the beaters ¡, producing some very high and challenging birds.
The flight of the Red Partridge is one of the fastest and more exciting than hunter can imagine, being this the reason why it has become a favourite sport for many hunters.
